Blanco tequila is unaged â€ or aged no more than 60 days. It's the most direct expression of the agave plant, which means the quality of the raw material matters more here than anywhere else.

Reposado means "rested." Aged between 2 months and 1 year in oak barrels, reposado picks up color, softens the agave character, and adds layers of vanilla, caramel, or spice depending on the barrel.

When to reach for a blanco

When you want the agave to talk. When you're making cocktails. When you're trying to understand a new distillery's style.

When to reach for a reposado

When you want something more complex for sipping. When whiskey drinkers are at the table.
